It’s International Colour Day!
Yes, 21 March is celebrated annually to encourage all of us to appreciate the importance of colour in our lives. Colours have been know to affect our emotions and reflect our thoughts and even our communication. For car owners, the colour for our four-wheelers can also be a way for our personality to come through.
In Singapore, most drivers tend to stick to predominantly black, grey, and white vehicles. Not because we (ahem) lack personality, but because of practical considerations. Neutral tones are favoured due to their timeless appeal. Cars in basic colours tend to retain their resale value better as they appeal to a broader range of potential buyers.
However, there are those who boldly choose more vibrant hues, using their car colour as a canvas to express their individuality and personality.
The brand, make and model of the car you decide on can shed light on your lifestyle, but your choice of car colour reflects how you may perceive yourself. For example, black and silver cars are most likely driven by conscientious people, while yellow and red cars are associated with those who take risks. It’s not an exact science but there is some truth in how colours match certain personality types.
So what does your car colour say about you? Let’s have some fun and dive in to find out!
