Ms Shang Tian Jun got her BYD e6 in May last year and has really enjoyed her experience with the fully electric vehicle (EV).
She had done a lot of research before deciding on the car and making the purchase. Top of her mind when considering an electric vehicle is protecting the environment. It also helped that Singapore has been encouraging consumers to adopt EVs. She shares a few quick thoughts on her experience with electrification and why she thinks that driving an EV will become a norm soon.
Did you have any apprehensions before switching to an electric car?
We had concerns over the charging facilities. Additionally, the safety of an EV was a factor as we had no experience owning one.
But our sales consultant shared how convenient it was to charge an electric vehicle and how the EV can cover up to 500km on a single charge.
Where do you usually charge your car?
We have a wall box charger at home.
Why did you choose BYD over other electric cars?
BYD is a well-known and leading company for electric vehicles. We did our research and found that BYD is using the blade battery technology. It also has one of the highest ranges for distance coverage.
What do you enjoy most about driving the BYD e6?
The BYD is extremely quiet when you are seated inside.
We have driven other vehicles, and you can always hear the engine sound whether you are standing outside or seated inside the car. But the BYD is extremely quiet both inside and outside.
Do you have any advice for potential BYD owners?
The BYD e6 is extremely suitable for driving around Singapore as it is a quite a small country. It can cover a good amount of distance at around 500km. Safety is top-notch.
